Tattletales (from Sherri)

Parents with school age children know all too well about tattling. It is a constant battle at our house. “Mom, sister pushed me.” “Mom, brother won’t quit playing with my toys.” My children even tattle on my husband, telling me that he let them have candy while I was away from the house! Every second is accounted for and if necessary tattled on. Yesterday I was so tired of hearing about other people’s problems I just plugged my ears! Children are always so concerned about others, when they really just need to focus on themselves.

But wait, don’t we as Christians have the same problem? How often have I gone before God and complained because I didn’t feel I was being treated fair. I am just like my children! I run to God and tell Him about other people’s problems. I have so many improvements I need to make on myself I shouldn’t be concerned about someone else’s spiritual walk with God.

"Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life." (1 Timothy 1: 15-16) I am so thankful that God has “unlimited patience” with me. My prayer today is that I will try to be more like God so that my children see Jesus’ love in me. Instead of plugging my ears, I will listen, and I will teach.  Lord help me to love like You.

Amen this is so true. We often get confused with praying for people and complaining about people to God. Jesus says if your brother sins go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. We of course have to get the huge blank out of our eye before we can ever help someone get the speak out of theirs. Jesus came to save not to condemn and through His grace working through us we tell the truth because we love people enough to tell them because he does through us, we do not hide from the truth He gives us because we fear what others may think of us. We can't hide from the truth if Jesus Christ is in us, I have always asked my children the truth of what happened just like God always asked us the truth and we tell him with a humble Spirit wanting to learn more from Him. Just as my children grew up not in fear of telling me the truth wanting to always please me because they never doubted my love for them. The truth always set them free as the truth will always set us free if we have faith in Christ Jesus working through us. A spiritual man judges all things, this is who Christ has made us not wanting us to miss any opportunity He gives us. His love will always divide the truth from the lies. What he tells us we are suppose to be proclaiming from the roof tops but if he is not giving you anything of himself to tell there will be nothing to proclaim, it will only be our empty words with no power of Him speaking them and no one will be changed. Only external appearances nothing from within us. Jesus Christ said we will recognize the false prophets and teachers by their fruit for a reason so He could guide them into knowing Him through us, speaking His words given through us, not our own words complaining to Him about them but praying to him for them. Faith comes from hearing the word and if we are not speaking the word how will people hear Him speaking through us. If only we walk like Jesus walked and did not speak the words he gave us how we would know him as we do, he spoke many words for His purpose to be known, and if we have faith in Him we will be doing what He did because He works through us for others but darkness never accepts Him as the truth in fear of their deeds will be exposed. There is always going to be a division when Christ comes into a room whether it is at church or in a mission field, the wolves are everywhere but the lamb can always turn a wolf into a lamb if He is willing to be changed into one! I don't know about you but I am tired of people acting a certain way and speaking another just as Jesus was because God was, that is the purpose of His coming, for Him to change us.I will always pray for people who do not know him and love them asking God to forgive them because that do not know what they are doing. He has turned some wolves into lambs through me and I have seen them and others change around them. He is amazing God loving everyone through us without compromising the truth, We always block out the seven woes Jesus spoke to the "self-righteous", my Lord was very patient with me because I never called Him Lord of my life and acted as if he wasn't, until I truly gave myself to Him. I did not hear Him say, Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and not do what I say." to me because I never could call him Lord because He truly wasn't most of my life. Today many people walk around saying He is, but are not living He is by them not living out what he says, and some think they are living it but do not say it, Either way He is not their Lord because if He was He would be saying it and living it out through them, there would be no stopping Him. I really liked this but we have to remember complaining to God about people is not the same as praying to God about people, Jesus prayed to God and was grieved about people's salvation all the time that is why He came, His interest in others should become our interest, He saved me one of the worst sinners, and I truly was but He saved me so through me He might can save more. Jesus showed his unlimited patience in Paul by saving Him meaning Paul was one of the worst sinners and still could be saved. This means what ever we have done, no matter how bad it is, God shows us His unlimited patience by saving all of us who believe in Him will receive eternal life. This means when our children mess up no matter what they do our patience will be shown through our forgiveness not hiding the truth but knowing the truth and still forgiving them. This is the love of God changing them so they will receive grace to not mess up again, His patience and love he shows us helps us stay on His path, not to keep us going in the wrong d
